The Foundation was created on October 11, 2006, exactly 153 years from the first day of the first Illinois State Fair held in Springfield. The Illinois State Fair Museum Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, and is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors.
The Illinois State Fair Museum is located in Springfield, Illinois on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in the North End of the Grandstand. We are open 10-8 all ten days of the Illinois State Fair.
The Illinois State Fair is a tradition any Illinoisan can be proud of, and the Illinois State Fair Museum Foundation is dedicated to continuing that legacy.

The Illinois State Fair plays a vital role in Illinois’ economy while upholding the link between Illinois’ work ethic, achievement and talent.
The Fair is a tradition any Illinoisan can be proud of, and the Illinois State Fair Museum Foundation is dedicated to continuing that legacy. Preservation and education is a key role in our on-going efforts.
An Illinois treasure, the Illinois State Fairgrounds is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Fair has gained international fame through the years.
The llinois State Fair Museum is located in the North end of the Grandstand on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
